Moving Chunks of Video and Overlays

Post by tgotch »

I am trying to insert a title in the middle of my timeline which has several overlays. When I do so, the title inserts, but the overlays do not move over. I have tried grouping, but when I shift/click all the overlays, grouping is greyed out.

How do I move a chunk of overlays and videos over at one time?

Welcome to the forum.

You need to look up Ripple Editing in the User Guide. Essentially, it is the tiny chain link to the left of every track in the timeline: see attached image where the red arrow is pointing. If you hover the mouse over it you should get the hint that it is to Enable/Disable Ripple Editing. If you click on the Ripple Editing link in the top track it will enable all the others, but you can then individually disable individual tracks if you don't want them to move.
