I've been using the Video Studio series for about 4 years now. Currently, I have video studio 8. I normally encode videos in 3ivx or xvid but I recently purchased divx6 because I heard good things about it.
My problem is this, when I go to encode a video, the divx codec does not show up in the encoders list. Has anyone else had this problem?
I went as far as to uninstall all my codecs, reboot my machine and reinstall divx again. Still nothing. I checked the registry settings under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/ActiveMovie/devenum/ and found divx to be there. All the divx dlls are in place as well, but still it will not show up in video studio 8.
Please advise, or help
Thanks.

At one point they sent out a letter stating that the codec would only list in programs published by their "partners" and Virtual Dub.
In the same letter they encouraged their user base to bug companies to join the partnership, in effect turning them into unpaid sales staff.
Hopefully they've seen the error of their ways.
