corrupt file???
I have a 6+ minute video that I constructed and exported to MPEG-4. After reviewing the MPEG I decided I wanted to change some of the transitions. When I open the .VSP file to edit the transitions the software will open the file, display everything normally, and then after a minute or two of editing the software just closes itself. If I just open the file and play the video in the preview window it plays through just fine. I'm a new user and this is my first project, so I don't have other older files to test. So, I made a new project and have been editing that project for 30+ minutes without problem. I've uninstalled/re-installed the software with no affect. Seems to me that the problem is isolated to that one particular file. Any suggestions on how to recover that file? Thanks in advance for your help! Dave

Some transitions may cause issues, so what transitions are you using?kzodave wrote: When I open the .VSP file to edit the transitions the software will open the file, display everything normally, and then after a minute or two of editing the software just closes itself.
Suggest that you save a copy of VSP under a different name, and then see if that VSP displays the same issue.

Re: corrupt file???
Thanks for the reply. As this was my first VS project, I was trying a bunch of different transitions to see how they looked in the final exported mpeg-4. I did save the original file with a different name and that file continues to do the same. Based on your comment, I think I'll work on deleting all of the transitions to see if that helps. Thanks again. Dave

Remove one or two transitions at a time and test. This might help you pinpoint where the problem is, if it is related to transitions
When I create a project (especially longer or involved projects), I always work in stages by adding only a couple of transitions, effects, etc then save then test. Before adding transitions, etc , it is a good idea to just render the added videos, images to see if there is a problems with those.
