my gif animation

I have a few nice gif animations. While deciding to use them and putting them on the layer - I see that they can not be used on videostudio.
They came still pictures.
Am I missing somethin or videostudio indeed does not take a ready gif animation?

Bty, they are working perfectly on other video editing programs

You need to install QT for ani gif's.

I installed qt (although my computer is pc and not apple). But this does not help.
On my computer I can see the gif with no problem. Have the problem only when I inserted it to vs 2021. VS recognised it as an image
How this problem can be solved?

I posted this recently : I used to have absolutely no problem playing animated GIF in VS Ultimate X10 and 2020. Last month, I've had a major problem with my computer and it had to be formatted. I reinstalled VS X10 and 2020, but animated GIF are no longer playing. I've followed instruction given by RobertOZ for the codec only installation, but the problem remains the same.

It seems that the problem is similar to another one I've had. I used to be able to play SWF in X10 Ultimate and Ultimate 2020. I was working on a project one day, everything was playing perfectly and, the next day « pouf », the SWF could no more be used. ??????????????????? What happened ?????? Same computer, same softwares, absolutely no changes to software from one day to another. ??????????????????????????

SWF and GIF are different thing. Windos and adobe removed SWF completely as of 12 Jan 2021.

asik will surely reply himself, but essentially QT Lite installs the QT codec, and a couple of other things needed for it to be installed in browsers as a sort of plug-in. Importantly, though, it does NOT install the QT Player which is what was giving the problems especially on PCs, and which caused Apple to drop support for QT entirely in PCs.

As for the difference between eu main link and ext mirror link, like many downloads, it depends where you are in the world when initiating the download. I, for instance, live an awful long way away from Europe, so would probably go for the mirror link as it may be closer to where I live and thus give a potentially faster stable download. But if you live in or closer to Europe, then the eu link be faster and more reliable.

What I meant by confirmation is : what is the difference between « eu main link » and « ext mirror link ».

I'm in Québec, Canada. I had enough problems in the last five years and I want the less as possible, after having my computer recently formatted. I had no problem whatsoever prior to that with GIF animations, but now ..... . When I went on the site to download the QT Lite version, I was given two choices. I'm really not a wiz with computers and would like to download the adequate version. Since I'm not sure which one is appropriate , I'm simply asking proper advices.

While again asik can answer if he wants to, there is no difference at all between what you get whether you use main or mirror link. The only difference, as I tried to explain above, is where the two links are located. So you are in North America, and I kind of assume the mirror link in this case will likely also be in North America. So using that you should get a stronger, stable download. But you would get the same content whether you used the main or the mirror link.

well, I don't remember (usually by the following day) from where I D/L . Any file you D/L from any site you should ran your A/V and check it.
