PSP2022 BUG: Smart Capture Multiple Monitors at Different Resolutions

Post by Suit Yourself »

Hello there.

When using the [Smart Capture] function on [PaintShop Pro 2022], on the main monitor display works fine (4k monitor at 3840x2160 native ) but on the secondary monitor (1920x1080) it seems to want to show both monitors as [one large desktop] when it should be just showing that second monitor only at its own set resolution.

It's a small bug, and I can work around by bringing whatever I want to capture to the main display, however it is still a bug I wanted to report.

Thank you for reading.
Have a great day!

We're all users here. You should report any issues to Corel through their support channels.

I don't have a 4K monitor so I'm uncertain if that's a necessary part of it. But my copy of PSP 2022 does not have this problem. I put my first monitor at 1920x1080 and my second monitor at 1240x720 and whatever screen my mouse was on when I hit the hotkey to capture the image, it captured only that monitor. I usually only see both monitors if I use the Prnt Screen button on my keyboard as it treats the extended desktop as one giant screen. But I don't see this in PSP 2022 on my non 4k resolution monitors.

I used the [Corel Error Monitor 2019] by holding [Shift + Control] and loading [PaintShop Pro 2022] then recorded the logs for the [Smart Capture] function on [PaintShop Pro 2022].
I'm unsure if the information collected and automatically sent to Corel is of any help in the above report, but I figured I would do this just in case it is helpful.

Attempted to send the report but the [Corel Error Reporting] program failed to send out the report.
Attaching the crash report .zip file [Corel PaintShop Pro_24_0_0_113_x86_572695_554701031.zip] here.

Hi LeviFiction, I have posted it to Corel by submitting a ticket. When submitting tickets, they usually tell us to post in the forums as well, so I have posted the above and also will be adding the Error Report log to the ticket to.

I'm not using the print screen option, I'm using PSP Smart Capture feature with the 'Area Capture' option as I don't want the entire screen, just [areas] of it.

Thanks for reading and replying. Nice to meet you.
Have a great day!

Re-reading your post LeviFiction and it may be a 4k monitor issue in conjunction with using the Windows 10 resizing options as Windows 10 has a few options for resizing text and stuff at percentages as well as options for upscaling programs to resize features so you can see them (etc and so on). So that may be playing a part. I used their (Corel) inbuilt Error Reporter Logger (previous post explains more) to capture everything going on behind the scenes in case there is something there that can help them. Also included this in the ticket and updated that too.

I appreciate your reply and thank you for testing.
