VS X9/ 2019 and 2K screen

Post by asik1 »

As for the last 5 hours I have new 27" HP 2K screen.
I set system scale to 125% and it set most programs fine but not X9 and 2019.( 2021 is fine).
I tried all Compatibility options and couldn't see a difference, still tiny menus.

What did you do?
Thanks

I can't help, I'm afraid, since I don't have X9 or 2019 on this computer. They used to be there, and I'm pretty sure they were there when I got this 32" 4K monitor. But since then I had to totally reinstall Win 10 and didn't reinstall those older versions of VS. So I can't say what the monitor would have shown. It is set to 150% magnification, by the way. I assume, though, that using 150% would not change your problem with those two VS versions...

I have a FHD and 4K monitor. The scaling of the FHD monitor is 100%, whilst the 4K monitor is 150%.

VS X8, X9, 2018, and 2019 appear fine on both monitors. However, VS 2021 has too small menus on the 4K monitor but looks OK on the FHD monitor.

The fol image shows how VS X9, 2019 and 2021 look on the 4K monitor set at 150% scaling.

I see X9 and VS2019 not crisp on my 4K monitor whilst VS2021 is crisp (all look crisp on the FHD monitor). That said, I see your X9 and VS2019 as OK, but your VS2021 text as fuzzy.

It would appear that the text in various versions of VS isn't crisp at all monitor resolutions and scalings.

I copy/paste the screen shots as is to the canvas, no scaling making that trio.
I did tweaked the OS system fonts compensating the "2K dpi thing" as natively they all were lilliputian, as well as just 125%. I did read that most 4k users scale to 150%.
