VS Ultimate 20
Let me explain! I have a png image that is 1885 x 4700 pixels. It's basically an image from a website home page that you would have to scroll down to view. So in my video I used customize motion to have the image scroll up, if you will. But I have to enlarge the size to 400% to fill the page, and at that size the image becomes blurry (low res). If I view the same image in a photo editor, it's crystal clear.
Halp!
Thanks,

Re: HD image appears low resolution because of canvas size
To be clear, the low res preview image you see in the customize motion window is what you get on the rendered output.
If I crop the image to 1920x1080 and import it, it looks fine. So I guess I could cut into into 5 or more sections and try to get them to line up correctly to look like one long image. But hopefully there is a solution and not just workarounds!
Thanks,
FB

Re: HD image appears low resolution because of canvas size
Video Studio is not very good at managing high resolution images.
The timelines video resolution for HD is 1920 x 1080, basically it can only display images using 1920 x 1080, greater sizes and the program simply removes detail, changing your image from 4700 to 1080 looses a lot of detail.
Just seen your latest reply, yes saving your image to 1080 high will look better than using the 4700 image, strange I know.
Now increasing the project properties to use 4K would allow you to use a higher resolution 4K image.

Re: HD image appears low resolution because of canvas size
Okay, thanks - at least I know there's not a basic setting I'm missing. In this case the workaround shouldn't be too painful.
I really only have experience with VS, not other programs - is "not very good at managing high resolution images" also true of comparable video editing programs or is this an area where Corel is not among the "best in class"? It seems like something you would hear in 2011.

Re: HD image appears low resolution because of canvas size
Basically, the issue is that VS can't properly handle a still image larger than the video dimensions (see https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?f ... 8&start=28).fingerbreaker wrote: the image becomes blurry (low res). If I view the same image in a photo editor, it's crystal clear
As discussed elsewhere on this forum, I'd suggest trying Openshot (freeware NLE video editor) if you want to produce a video clip using P&Z on a photo much larger than the video dimensions.fingerbreaker wrote: But hopefully there is a solution and not just workarounds!
