Problem with Clone Tool

Post by LindaP57 »

I'm using PSP X9 and lately the clone tool hasn't been working correctly. Everything gets pixelated after using it for just a few seconds. I've been using PSP X9 for years and it never happened until recently. I got a new computer a few weeks ago. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Any ideas on how to fix this? I've attached a photo to show what is happening.

1. Try to reset to factory default:

2. If the problem is still there, post a screen capture of your Toolbar options.

I reset to factory default, now I can't use PSP at all. I get a pop up that says there's a script error, do I want to continue running scripts on this page. Clicking yes or no just makes another window pop up. The only way I can get out of it is to end the program in task manager.

Something is corrupted.
Redo a reset (shift key maintained down when clicking on PSP icon on Windows desktop).

That sounds like the Map mode in the Manager tab. As Jean-Luc says First, try resetting to factory default again. Maybe it just didn't catch everything.

If that doesn't work, I have an idea that might work though it's on the bit extreme side. Edit the Registry. Should not be necessary. It's only for when things are really broken and the normal fixes don't seem to do the job for unknown reasons.

"Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SOFTWARE\Corel\PaintShop Pro\YourVersion\General\DefaultLaunch" and change the DefaultLaunch key to 1 for Edit mode. Then start PSP. Hopefully, it should default to opening in Edit Mode. Avoiding the annoying issue with the Manage Mode.

I tried to reset again but still had the problem. I ended up Uninstalling PSP then installed again. Everything seems to be working correctly for now. Thanks for the help.
