Syncronise text with video even if extra vid inserted

Hi
Is there a way to 'fix' text to an actual point in a video? Even if additional clips are added. Basically so it ripples through.

e.g. an action happens and I want to highlight it with the addition of text.

How do I sync the start of a piece of text with the action on a clip?
This must then roll through even if additional material is added ahead of this particular action?
I have done a search but can't find anything, probably asking wrongly.

You have partly answered your own question in referring to “ripple”
Video Studio uses a process called Ripple Editing.
When enabled locks selected overlay tracks to the top timeline
To the top left of the timelines are several chain links, the top one enables Ripple Editing

Hi Lata,
Thanks, Duh! moment methinks. Can I blame it on COVID haha? Totally lost the plot and forgot about the darned chain links.
My only excuse is that I've not done much editing for a while. sorry to waste group time.
