How To - take best quality screengrabs from video in VS

Post by garjobo123 »

I want to take screenshots from various videos i have, would it be ok to take the snapshot from VS - and then bring that photo into ..say Powerpoint..to perhaps lighten or blur a little.

Just not sure whether best to take from actual source outside of VS - and then use Powerpoint to enhance a little.

Muchness of a muchness? i assume VS snapshot will save in jpeg.

What version of video studio are you using? can you please update your profile to show these details.
I know taking a screen shot has been updated from earlier versions so useful to know which version you are using.

A screenshot could be taken in clip mode, which creates an image directly from the video file using the videos properties / frame size
Or taking a screen shot in project mode will create an image using the project settings, the image will show everything you see on the preview screen.
It is possible that these images may be different sizes depending on the video being used and whether the project properties match.

Asik - thanks - although found your screenshots confusing to be honest - but welcome - and i can see that it 'automatically' already states its 'bitmap'.

So, thats that. Best i can do.

lata seriously! version etc - a reply with more questions than answers.

But again thanks, if that's the best i can expect, then questions answered.
