The other day someone asked me how to create your own PaintShop Pro masks. Then I got the idea to post it here.
1. Convert photo or graphic to 256 grayscale colors (8-bit).
2. Save the image as a Windows bitmap or JPEG file in the PSP subfolder "Masks".
3. Rename the file extension ".bmp" or "jpg" to ".PspMask". This step is not absolutely necessary, but prevents unintentional changes.
4. Open PSP and load the photo / graphic.
5. Select the menu "Layers > Load / save mask ... Load mask from file".
6. Select the mask and click on "Load".
Note: You can also create a background that is placed outside the group and at the bottom. Image with mask and background gradient:
Have fun!
