Error Burning Blu-Ray with VS MyDVD

Post by dstrege08 »

After finally getting the BR plugin installed, I tried my first BR burn.
Ran for a while (slow) so I left the room, checking back about 30 minutes later.
Error Msg:
WithOut_D3DX:VCPOverlay/OverlayChrome.
Create Pixel Shader:CreatePixelShader not implemented

I searched for related postings with no luck.

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz 4.20 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Any help would really be appreciated.

Many of us here avoid using MyDVD because of a variety of errors. We prefer to use the in-built burner which comes as part of the Share module of VS. Have you ever used that?

I did try burning directly through the program Share. However, the video playback is jerky. I've tried reworking the resolution which hasn't helped either. Playback is also jerky on pc so it can't be blu-ray player, which is fairly new.
Any other thoughts. I appreciate the response.

How about posting what project settings you used? Did you first burn to a video file and play that on your PC?
FYI: video on BlueRay are slowly disappearing and will be obsolete in a few years.

Jerky playback for a BR file suggests that you may not have enabled smart proxy in the main VS preferences. SP is simply a way of using a SD version of HD clips for smooth play during editing and playback: any edits are applied to the main file when rendering in Share mode. If you have not already done that, strongly recommended.
Also parts of this is the location of the HD source files: on the internal PC storage is best; on an external usb drive/memory stick is allowed BUT the file transfer across the memory interface is slower and can cause the VS program to pause whilst the files from the external usb source load up the PC internal cache memory for use by the app. When that transfer completes the program continues, but the effect is a very jerky video.
Correctly edited that jerky look should not be seen in the rendered video, which is constructed frame by frame regardless of how long each one takes for the program to assemble. The way to check that is to use an external player capable of playing iso or mts (or other HD filetypes) on a rendered file that is in memory only.
So before burning a BR disk, render to a computer file or create a disk image (an .iso file) and check it plays OK using a player like VLC which will play BR file or disk images. If that works OK, THEN burn your BR disk using either CVS or any of the free burner programs that are available.
