So, currently using VSP X9 on a Windows 10 laptop.
I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, and there may well be a really simple answer but I've been trying to figure this out for days and I'm so stuck!
I have a video that I want to crop and overlay over a portion of the screen and I want to feather the edges (Ideally just one edge but all edges will also work)
I have managed to crop it using the crop FX (which I find an unnecessarily complicated way to crop, if there is an easier way that doesn't involve the image being stretched out and having to then drag it to as close as the right size as possible manually then I'd be so grateful!)
But I can't for the life of me figure out how to feather the edges (or edge) so that it blends in with the original video more smoothly. The closest I came was using a mask frame, but there were 2 problems with that.
1. You can't amend the frame to fit the specifications you want (that I know of)
2. It doesn't feather the cropped edge, which, annoyingly is the edge that I actually need to feather.
I did try having a fiddle with the crop borders FX, but I couldn't figure out a way to get it to do what I wanted it to do. I'd have thought feathering edges would be quite a simple tool, as it is in PSP, but I have lost too many hours on this and I can't work it out and it's driving me crazy!

I would opt for Mask Frame, we can create our own frames using a Black and White image
Then using the + add option to insert to the mask frame gallery.
You could make an image with one side faded from white to black, the black would be transparent when used as a frame.

You could try to use the vignette filter, which allows some selection of size and degree of 'feather' or blur.
