VideoStudio 2021 Ultimate - No More Drag & Drop?

I have the same issue with 2021 only. If I open VS 2018, 2019, or 2020 Drag and Drop works fine. Total fail with VS Ultimate 2021.

Seems like no one knows. I just have to map to my image folders. Weird glitch.

Drag and Drop works for me provided I first use Windows Explorer to locate the files, then Drag and Drop.

I do however prefer to use the programs “Insert or Import” media files options, a right click on timelines or library for options then browse for my files, select files and open.
I have to say from the Select Media Files window we cannot Drag and Drop we have to select the files then choose open.

So Drag and Drop only available using Windows Explorer, seems to work ok for me.

MTS video types for some reason seem to cause a bit of delay for Video Studio showing the No Entry Sign for a time, most other formats being faster to load.

I routinely drag & drop files from Explorer onto the VS2021 timeline since VS2021 was installed about a year ago. Hence the issue that your having may be caused by either your system or VS2021 installation.

Like tletter, I also have no difficulty in dragging and dropping video from File Explorer to VS 2021's timeline. I just tested it and found it still works. But like lata/Trevor, I prefer using right-click > Insert Media...

Drag and drop works for me as well.No delay even with multiple pictures same with MTS video.

Please verify if you could adjust the settings for your mouse.
I found 'smoother' drag and drop (i use a Logitech Wireless mouse after adjusting the settings (pointer and scrolling) .

Funny thing....
I used all the Vs cleanup tools from x4 up to 2022, then reinstalled Vs2022 Ult. After that for me the drag and drop feature still was not working. Then I ran upon this quirky fix. If I open Vs normally, drag and drop does not work, but if I open Vs via a vsp file then all works fine. Go figure?????

Yes, weird as hell glitch.
I remedied it though- just purchased VS 2022 Ultimate at 40% off. Problem solved!

Can we assume, though, that with VS 2021 you can still right click in the timeline and choose "Insert Media" or Audio...?

Yes Insert Medio or Audio always worked....
