GO PRO HERO 9 - cannot open video

Post by MEGATURTLE »

Hey guys,

I am really satisfied with Corel Video Studio 2018.
I have been using it for two years already.
For example, this is my video:

This forum helped me so many times, specially when I was making my first videos.

Meanwhile, important things changed. I used to work with Canon but now I have GoPro Hero 9.

Now, I cannot open videos made with Gopro (GX010054.MP4 for example).
Whenever I try to do so, whenever I click on that video CVS just stops working.

EDIT:
By the way, I have HEVC, I`ve already watched some of videos made with GoPro with Windows Media Player,
but I just cannot open it with CVS. At the same time, I can open other videos and edit them.

Is there anyone who could help me with this problem?

Thank you!

Unfortunately, I no longer have VS 2018 on my computer. I have both VS 2021 and 2020. I also have a Go Pro Hero 9 Black, and it's set to take video in HEVC format. But I have no trouble inserting and editing that footage in both versions of VS that I have.

When I did have VS 2018, in fact I could not play HEVC in it, but I don't think that was because VS 2018 was incapable of playing it. I was having another problem with my computer and eventually did a total reinstall of Windows 10. After that I had no trouble with HEVC, though I never reinstalled VS 2018 as later versions of VS were available to choose from.

You say you have HEVC -- by this I assume you have bought or acquired the Microsoft HEVC Video Extension. That is required, though since your HEVC plays on WMP you do indeed appear to have it.

Hopefully someone else will come along who has VS 2018 and a Go Pro 9...
