Stupid Noob Question - how do I lock and cut multiple tracks?

I figure this must be such an obvious thing that then don't even cover it in any of the how-to videos (none that I found, at least).

I need to edit out a section of my video across all tracks. If I just edit a clip, then I'm going to have to rearrange all my clips on each track to get the timing lined back up.

How do I lock all the tracks together and then make a cut that affects all tracks?

Look up the Help or User Guide for Ripple Editing. Essentially, though, it is enabled for each track to the far left of each track. It looks like a tiny chain link -- see attached image. Each one has to be enabled for that track to be affected by editing. So if you want to make a cut in all the tracks at the same place, then make sure Ripple Editing is enabled for all the tracks.

Enabled ripple editing, and position the scrubber where you want to cut and then use the split cut feature.

Adding some additional info to profile, thank you for that tip.

Enabled ripple editing - would never have thought to look up 'ripple'

Still having trouble though. I should be able to set the tracks into ripple mode, then split out a section and delete, and the deletion applies to the other tracks as well - or am I misunderstanding something?

you didn't mark "ripple" on the other tracks so how they will follow?
