Videostudio Ultimate 2021 new install and bundle issues

Hello,

I am not new to using VideoStudio, however, I am having issues with a new install of VideoStudio Ultimate 2021. This should be a simple fix and may be questions that others have.

1) I've downloaded and installed the free bundles that come with the purchase: Video Overlay pack, Video Template packs 1, 2 & 3, and the Graphic Pack. After following the download procedures, using the VideoStudio program, I have discovered that these items did not appear as the description stated. There are corresponding file folders on the desk top for each of these. Do I need to open these within the VideoStudio Ultimate program itself and how do I go about that? According to Corel this was to be done automatically.

2) I would like to make a back-up copy of the program to a flash drive or disk. You know the 'just in case' scenario. What would be the proper procedure for this?

Video Studio 2021 Free Content from Welcome Store
Video Templates Bundle 1,2,3

1 / Select free bundle to view details
2 / select Download – Nothing happens – the button changes to Install
3 / Select Install – Download starts showing progress bar top right.
A file is being downloaded and saved to the %temp% folder.
Once downloaded Installation auto runs, this process does not install any content to Video Studio but extracts content to folders on the desktop called “Video Template Bundle 1 / 2 / 3” and a “Graphic Pack”
So far we have not installed any files, just downloaded and extracted the contents to folders on our desktop.

5 / Each folder contain multiple .exe files, double clicking each in turn will install the template to Video Studio.
The Templates Bundles being installed as separate folders saved here:-
C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPTemplate
any template in this folder should be available to use from the Templates library sections.
When selecting Templates the library should update automatically.
A the moment I cannot say which gallery the new templates will use although some will create a new folder/section.

6 / The Templates Bundle 1 folder contains a VS_Bonus.exe, this installs sample files / audio, Images and Video saved to here:-
C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\Bonus Content
To Use these clips have to be imported to video studio in the same manner as any other file.

Graphics Pack
1 / this contains 24.exe files which when installed will provide images ( approx. 5 images for each .exe) to the graphics library, the files being installed here
C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPContent\Decoration
Named as BG is a background, CP is Colour Pattern, FR being Frames and OB are Objects.
2 / additional files named D0-More_Titles, a little confusing as some are font packs with Title_07 and 08 being additional Titles, these add I believe 10 extra titles to the library.

AR Filters,
16 free with names containing the word Mask
C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel AR Stickers\Free Content
When installed do show in the VS library AR Stickers Library section, search for Mask will find the new samples.

SWF Files
There are some problems with Templates Packs 1,2 and 3 using SWF files.
SWF was no longer available as of I believe 12th January 2021 yet Corel still provide these templates
Installing is not a problem, just viewing the template will not play the SWF ruining any effect that was provided with SWF.
Best to avoid installing these templates although some Mov files may be available to replace the SWF files, at least some of them?

The attached images show the templates to avoid, renamed adding SWF to their name

Thank you very much for the detailed information. You made the process of locating and installing these bonus items easy. Why they continue to offer the SWF files I do not know.

I hope this will help others installing Ultimate 2021.

Having just installed VideoStudio Ultimate 2021 (for the second time), I did not find any of the advertised Enhanced Bundle apps. Using your above notes I could not find any of those files. Tis getting late so will try again tomorrow. (Monday).

When VS2021 loads, it would normally open to the "Home"screen Welcome page, click on "Store" then scroll down until you find the 4 free packs available, download them and they will each create a folder on your desktop, to install them follow Trevors instructions above

Me thinks that is the missing link as I did not think to go to the Store menu item. System shut down for the night but that will be the first task Monday morning!

Oops, sorry Bob, there are 5 packs, not 4, missed the AR Sticker Pack, didn't see the point of those, so have not installed them

One annoying issue is being unable to play view the templates before installation.
So a we cannot choose which ones we like and really have to install all.

What I did was first close Video Studio then re-name the “VSPTemplate” folder to “VSPTemplate_existing”
Installing the first Template bundle created a new “VSPTemplate” folder populating that with the new templates
When complete, renamed that to VSPTemplate Bundle 1
Then installed Bundle 2 and 3

When complete renamed the “VSPTemplate_existing” back to “VSPTemplate”

I now have all templates installed but not showing in Video Studio
Most templates have a VSP file, now I can open that to view / play, do not edit this project
If you like that effect move the template folder to the existing “VSPTemplate” folder and the template will be available to use in Video Studio.
A bit long winded but is saves installing 70 / 80 that you may not want.

A preview from the Store would avoid all that.

When I first went to the Store after installation all I saw were the add-ons for sale. I did not see the filter screen on the right and so, backed out. After your tip yesterday I checked out the Store this morning and found the freebies. My system was approaching its scheduled weekly backup so I backed out. I will install the freebies later today. In the next post I saw Trevor's suggestion about the templates … I will certainly pay heed to his suggested processes.

Just a little more info regarding the Welcome – Store content
To the right is a list to filter the selections……
1 / There is a Free option, at least I see that, should make it easier to locate the free stuff
2 / the list shows My Library – this contains all packs that you have downloaded / Installed
And indeed we can install again from here.

I have now downloaded the 5 Free apps (Templates 1,2,3/Graphics Pack/AR Stickers) and installed them to the point where the folders are on the desktop for the first 4 and Stickers installed in VS. At this point I have moved the 4 folders off the desktop and stored them on a Data drive. I do not like storing personal data files on my SSD system drive. I am assuming that taking the next install step will not balk at starting the install from the folders on a non-system drive.

Your notes are very helpful. I am glad you took the time to create them.

Time for a break ... will continue the process later.

You can move the folders to any drive, they will still install to the correct location

I am still unable to install the VSP Template bundles - 1, 2, 3. I tried Trevor's suggestion of renaming and installing. However, I cannot find any download from any of the bundles.

Suggestions?

Corel is, for me, not a very cooperative company. A company that respects its customers should have made available all templates that used to have SWF with MOV files.
