Video On VA - Speed < 100% and play od source window = system halted.

Windows XP SP2
Gigabyte GA8I915G PRO !!
Intel PIV 531 !!
1 GB RAM Kingston
Video ONBOARD or GeForce 6200 PCIExpress

Please HELP

what type of video are you working with (codec, uncompressed, resolution, bitrate, audio type, etc...)

MSP8 does not have a VA -- do you mean Track-1

MS DV -Type 1, Audio is 48 KHz

Yes - file on time line and speed < 100%

Insert file of Time Line
Speed < 100%
open source window
Click on Play/Pause
System Halted or Blue Screen (video drivers is last)

where do you have your playback options going? external device or monitor? avoid any external playback for now...

No. I'm open only source window and click play on Computer monitor.
If playback clip in playback window is OK (speed 50%)
If playback clip (speed 100%) on source windows - is play OK

you mention version 6, 7, and 8. is this the same clip causing a problem in all version? if so does the same happen with another clip?

This is not "the same clip"

If use speed and set 50% - is not OK
If use variable speed and set 50% IN and 50% OUT - is OK
??
