Problems with Text
I am an amateur with PSP 2021. I have a standard jpeg graphic I wish to insert normal text on, I click the text tool T button choose Verdana 10 as my font, Points for printing Vector, for editable text and Sharp. My result is shown in the attachment. The figures are not sharp and there is fading towards the top. What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance.

Re: Problems with Text
There are any number of reasons you might get that effect. Assuming it's not being masked and not behind another layer, since we cannot see your setup only the result, I would assume the fading is a gradient. The text takes its color from the Materials Palette. Note that in PSP 2021 it does have swatches for Stroke and Fill directly on the Tool Options Palette but those reflect what's chosen in the Materials Palette.
So if you have a gradient chosen for your stroke or your fill, or both, it'll appear to fade. Change the color to a solid color.

You may also want to have a look at HEC Image Editing in my signature, for a series of Text tutorials for PSP. I think they are the most thorough I've come across (and the most recent ones).
