Your profile shows you using Windows 7, is this correct.

One thought is your filing system, NTFS and FAT32 file systems are available if using Fat 32 there is a 4 Gb limit.

A full DVD holds 4.3 Gb, if you reach that then maybe the sound you hear is a warning of that limit.

Where are you saving the imported files to, your working folder selected on the import panel

Sorry, my profile is incorrect. I am now on Windows 10. The issue seems to be intermittent. However, another strange problem has arisen with one of my DVDs. It will play on my TV through the DVD player, but when I try to import the files into vigeo studio, I get a messaage that there is no valid content.

Can you tell us where you are saving the files, the working folder showing within the Import Digital Media panel.
As the image i posted earlier.

Is the disc an actual DVD Video disc which contains the video-ts folder or is it a data disc containing the raw video files
Please view the contents of the disc

As advised in an earlier post by Trevor that has worked for at least 20 other DVDs. i.e. loading the disc into the DVD player attached to my computr with USB. Opening Videostudio and then clicking Insert from digital media.

The saga continues. One of my discs will play the video on my television, but when I try to read it into Videostudio, it tells me there is no valid content. If I view the disc it contains Video and Audio TS files. Is there anything I can do to read this into videostudio so that I can creat an mpg file, please?

I have a DVD of a project that will play on my TV but I cannot read it into Videostudio because it says there is no valid content. If I look at the file with Explorer it has Video_TS and Audio_TS on it. What can I do?

I have another file that seems to have AVLC logo to open it and it is a .ixb file. Is there a way that I can open it with Videostudio. I tried to change the default app in Microsoft settings buy Videostudio deosnt appear as an option.

Can you list the files that are contained in the Video_TS and Audio_TS folders? Does the DVD play on your computer?

THe ixb file appears to be an image file of a DVD and was probably created many years by an obsolete Ulead program. I could not find any program that will open it

What do you mean by “etc for 03 and 04”

As the disc plays on the computer and TV then you should be able to copy the VIDEO_TS folder to your hard drive, are you able to do that.
Now use Import Digital Media to import from that folder, does that work

If that does not work then re-name the 0.VOB, 1 VOB, 2 VOB, 3 VOB, 4 VOB files to use .MPG as their extension, rename works on some but not all VOB’s, those should open using Video Studio.
Each Vob will be 1 Gb + the last VOB being a little smaller.

Like Trevor, I don't,understand what you mean by "etc for 03 and 04"
Take a screenshot of the complete Video_TS folder and post it. If you can't do that then give a complete listing of all the files with their full names, extensions and size.

It almost seems as if you have more than one movie on that DVD that is why you may be getting the "03 and 04"

I copied the video_TS to my hard drive, but again got the message - no valid content. I took a screen shot but can't see how to paste it in here

Maybe for the problematic DVDs giving you an error message, use freeware to convert DVD to mpg and then import it to VS timeline.
