PSP 2020 - Any tips/tricks to make it run faster?

Here are the specs for the laptop I am currently running PSP 2020 on:

Everything has really been dragging...and the laptop has a brand new hard drive, so I don't know what else to try.
I know the text tool is known for lagging, but it seems like even switching between layers and basic tasks are delayed.
I do not use any plug ins and don't have a lot of presets.
Am I missing something?

Is version 2021 any better? I have been using PSP for 12+ years, and this seems to be the slowest version I have worked with.

Anyone have any suggestions?

As far as another version being faster, you would have to download a trial and see for yourself as everyone's system and how they run PSP differs. Also, fast/slow is pretty subjective so what I think is fast you might see as slow.

PSP2022 has just been released.
