Delete all hidden layers?
Is there an easy way to simultaneously delete ALL hidden layers? (I'm using an earlier file with a grid of 5x5 layers. I cropped it to 2x4 but all 25 layers are still listed. Deleting each unwanted layer individually was tedious, so I'm thinking of next time.)

Re: Delete all hidden layers?
Try selecting layers like in Windows File Explorer: click, shift-click, ctrl-click, until all the needed layers are selected. Then right-click and select Delete.

Re: Delete all hidden layers?
Just to add to what Forriner said, it depends on which version of PSP you are working with. Pretty sure the ctrl or shift method will not work in PSP 8 but will in PSP2018.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

Re: Delete all hidden layers?
This method also depends on the version of PSP as it uses "Merge Visible" but it is an option. But PSP has an "invert" option that will make all visible layers hidden and all hidden layers visible. Then calling Merge Visible will combine all non-hidden layers into one new layer at the top of the layers palette. Delete this to get rid of them, Then call invert again to restore the original visibility of the layers.
Layers Menu -> View -> Invert
Layers Menu -> Merge -> Merge visible
Delete new top layer.
Layers Menu -> View -> Invert
This could easily be made into a script. It doesn't work well with layer groups though.

Re: Delete all hidden layers?
Thanks Levi. Unfortunately that doesn't appear to work here on PSP 8, failing at the second step as you see.
Naturally the familiar Ctrl and Shift methods were the first I tried. But as Kathy says, frustratingly they don't work. Guess I'll have to resort to firing up 2018.

Re: Delete all hidden layers?
To get the Merge Visible, you must also have a visible layer active. In your screen shot you have a non visible layer selected.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Re: Delete all hidden layers?
I actually have a utility script that does that (among other things):

(sorry, it is not free)

Re: Delete all hidden layers?
Thanks Paul, got it!
But I now realise I was making unnecessarily heavy weather of it. Instead I can just work with the layer holding the grid lines. (Called 'Merged' in my screenshot; now renamed more appropriately to '5x5 gridlines'). By cropping that I get the new grid I need.

Re: Delete all hidden layers?
Thanks Cassel. As you may have seen from my reply to @harpaul I've now eliminated the need for all that deleting. But your utility sounds interesting and if I substantially increase my work with layers I'll consider it.Cassel wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 3:36 am I actually have a utility script that does that (among other things):
