3d title editor causing videostudio to shut down.

Post by captain scarlet »

Hi,
I am editing a video with Video Studio Ultimate 2019 and everything is fine until I try to add text via the 3d title editor when I get a pop up window stating " Corel videostudio has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you of a solution is available. "
Videostudio then shuts down. This only happen on 3d title editor. I have tried another video that I have added text in the past and its the same result. I have uninstalled and then reinstalled videostudio but it is still closing down.
Any idea's.
Thank you.

and welcome to the forums
sorry you are having problems with 3DTE
I have just tried using with 2019, no issues there seems to work ok

Can you try using the 3DTE using the library samples
As a test Start a new project
Drag SP-V01.mp4 to the timeline, you should see a message to match the properties, yes to that
Now try using 3DTE
If that works ok then I would suspect your Project Properties and or your of video being used.

Otherwise I can only suggest you try re-installing again but this time use the Cleanup Tool to remove the program,

3D Title Editor in VS2019 has serious issues - see https://forum.corel.com/search.php?keyw ... sf=msgonly

Following the links in your post takes me to a topic related to VS 2018 not VS 2019
And things do change from version to version, I have to say not always for the better

The 3D Title Editor in VS2019 is unchanged from that in VS2018, hence the issues remain unchanged.

I tried the above suggestions but still no luck. I tried using the 3DTE without a video being downloaded but again as soon as I click on the 3DTE tab it crashes.

Video Studio 2019 has 10 3D sample titles
Access these from the “T” title library, select the down arrow next to Title for 3D Title
Drag one of those to the timeline, then double click the clip should open the editor
Does VS still crash.

Couple of things to try
1 / Go to preferences (F6) Performance tab and deselect all acceleration options.
2 / Can you try running the VideoStudio_3D_Title_Editor.exe installer to see if that on its own fixes things
From your downloaded installation files here:-
64bit\Ultimate\Setup\RunTime ---- VideoStudio_3D_Title_Editor.exe

It is difficult to know which version we are running as the 3DTE has no About details.
The actual file I see as 30,936kb
Right clicking that file for Preferences – Details tab shows the Product version as 1.0.9.179
At least that is what I see.

As for the "VideoStudio_3D_Title_Editor.exe installer" Thats gone over my head, I'm a luddite.

Do you have any other VS programs installed or just 2019?

When you re-installed VideoStudio2019 did you use the cleanup tool to remove the program.

Download from this post

The cleanup tool does a more thorough job.
You can then install VS 2019 hopefully with better results.

Thank you for your reply.
I have re-installed videostudio 2019 with and without using the clean up tool.
I only have painshop pro x9 ultimate installed as well.
I am going to try installing on my laptop ( when I can find it ) and see if that helps as it is unused and has nothing downloaded on it.

I also suggest you download the 2019 installation files again.
Choosing an empty download folder will give you the latest files.
Just in case they have been updated since your last download
