X9 Screen capture problem
When i try to use the screen capture function and enable system audio it doesn't work. When system audio is disabled it works. Whenever I try to screen record with system audio enabled it comes up with a "Prepare record failed" error.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: X9 Screen capture problem
This may seem a bit pedantic, but . . .
X9 uses the (now discontinued in later versions of CVS) LSC screen capture program, a gem of a program. Have you reviewed your capture settings (settings, down arrow on the simple LSC screen panel) and made sure that in the audio section, system audio is set to "on" and the related slider is at max?
And a captured file can have audio set too low to be normally audible. For one of your captured files, import to VS, click on the file in the TL and then the sound mixer icon in the TL tool bar (a music quaver plus a small audio burst beside it: hover the mouse pointer over it and a label appears), which will display an audio waveform if there is one. Given that there is a sound waveform there, the mouse pointer can be used to determine if the sound setting is v low: too low to hear: minus infinity or about -36db is inaudible. If there is an audio waveform that is too low, use the sound mixer features to boost the level to the audible range: at least -15 to 0db (sound levels in db are a logarithmic scale)

Re: X9 Screen capture problem
Thank you David k for tryng to help. It was when System audio was enabled that capture would not work at all. How ever we have managed to partly solve the problem. Before I start the program I go into Sounds in the task bar, right click, sounds and take the playback tab. I then have to set as default realtek digital audio output. Capture works. I then have to go back and set the speakers as default. At least I have a way of making it work
Thank you
Thank you

Re: X9 Screen capture problem
The control panel (yes, even windows 10 still has this for a most things, including sound) sound page allows separate settings for both microphone and speakers; you should be able to default set and test both of them. You can have more than one of each type on the PC (eg, on my PC there are both microphone and speakers as part of the video conferencing screen - essentially an integrated screen, webcam, speakers and microphone - and I can also plug in a telephone headset - boom microphone and speakers - to a usb port). In that condition, the sound page setting for which device is default for the speaker and microphone is essential.
