Default resolution for "Paste as New Image"

I use PSP (currently 2021) almost exclusively for annotating screenshots for software documentation/training/etc. My general workflow is:

• Capture a screenshot
• Paste into PSP as a new image (Edit > Paste As New Image)
• Add vectors to highlight areas of interest
• Flatten (Layers > Merge All (Flatten))
• Select all (Selections > Select All)
• Copy
• Paste into wiki, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

The problem is that the image ends up being larger on the screen in the target document at 100% resolution than it was on the screen when it was captured. This is particularly true when the target doc is a Microsoft Office format.

I think I've determined that the issue is the resolution in the image metadata. Specifically, when I use Paste As New Image, PSP chooses 72ppi. Office seems to like 96ppi.

I've learned how to "resize" the image to 96ppi without actually resampling, but takes a few clicks. I was just experimenting with scripts, and could use that to save a click or two. Ideally, however, I'd just like to set the default resolution for newly-pasted images.

My question is:

• QUESTION: Is there a way to change the default resolution for Paste As New Image from 72ppi to 96ppi?
