I was fooling with the source window controls and ended up making the source window larger than my screen. Now I can not get to the controls at the bottom. How can I put it back so that I can see the entire window?
I tried ctrl-w but that brings up the preview window.

If you can move it to the right enough, there's a button for Layout Templates right next to the main timeline horizontal slider at the bottom of the main window. It looks like a tiny pair of windows with sub-windows beneath them. Select the template that matches your screen size.
If you can't get it out of the way enough to reach the button, you can use the keyboard shortcuts:
1) Press Alt-TAB to tab through your window icons and re-select MSP. This should give focus to the main MSP window
2) Press ALT, release it (which will enter shortcut mode)
3) Press the f key, release (which will select the File menu)
4) Press the u key, release (which will select the Layout Template menu)
5) Press the l key, release (which will select the Load command)
6) Select the Layout Template that matches your screen size and load it
Your window configuration will be restored to the original layout.
