Dear Forum
I am fairly new to the Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2021.
I am filming videos with my GoPro 7 in 2.7K and 30 fps. When I am finishing my project and want to share then I use "Same as Project settings" I get an error msg. It says there is a mismatch between project settings and video settings. But when I choose any of the given choices of MPEG-4 preset settings there is no 2.7K resolution option.
What bothers me the most is, that the videos from the GoPro look damn sharp but after rendering it with one of the MPEG-4 settings (25 fps, 1920x1080) its blury. The quality is bad.
What I am doing wrong. I guess there must be an easy fix, but I am too stupid to figure it out even with the custom settings I cant get it with the same quality.
Thanks for any help, I attach the screenshot of my error msg, one of the original GoPro 7 video file Details, and one of the rendered video file.
Frame Size issue, rendered Video is poor quality

Re: Frame Size issue, rendered Video is poor quality
The error is a mismatch between the video size 2704 x 2028 and the standard HD size of 1920 x 1080
Video Studio uses a method to match the project properties to our video files properties, ( Show Messages)
This works for video that the program recognises as standard.
Your video appears to be 4:3 ratio at 2704 x 2028. I doubt that the project settings can replicate that size.
When you go to Share – Same as Project we can change that option to “Same as first Video clip”
Is that option available?
If so view the details in the properties panel, they should be same as your video properties
Render using those settings.

Re: Frame Size issue, rendered Video is poor quality
There is another possibility which may work. Go to Settings (above the preview screen) and choose Movie Profile Manager. When that opens, in the top window (Format) change it to MPEG-4. Then click on the Add button. A new dialogue box will appear headed Add Profile. The first window in it is labelled File Path, and has a small button beside it labelled "...". Click that, and navigate to a folder where you have one of your Go Pro clips, and select one. That file path will then show in the dialogue box. In the second window give it a name you will remember e.g. GoPro_01. Then close the dialogue box and also the Movie Profile Manager.
Now go to Share and select MPEG-4 as the output. Then click on the downward arrow beside Profile directly below AVI, MPEG-2. AVC/H.264, MPEG-4 etc. And at the top of the long list of mp4 presets which should now show, should be your new Profile GoPro_01 (or whatever you called it).
Now, when you want to make a video with that exact Profile, just choose that one when you go to Share.
NOTE: Very important. Once created, you cannot edit that new Profile. It must always remain with those exact Properties. If you try to change even one, the Profile will revert to a standard mp4 and you would need to start all over again.
The other possibility, of course, would be to change the profile of your Go Pro to film in another frame size. But if you want to use the one it is currently set to, then I suspect you will need to use the method I have give you to create a new Profile.

Re: Frame Size issue, rendered Video is poor quality
I have changed my GoPro camera settings for future use. But in the meantime, I am still trying to work with my existing footage. I have followed all these steps to create a new profile using a clip. Unfortunately I got the same error message: "The frame size (2704 x 2028) of the video file does not match the settings and therefore cannot be trimmed.".
The same error message appears when trying to select the option "same as first video clip".

Re: Frame Size issue, rendered Video is poor quality
Your video using 2704 x 2028 calculates to 4:3 ratio, I suspect the video may be anamorphic retaining the 16:9 display.
Can you confirm that the video does fill the preview screen when the project is set to 1920 x 1080, and that the video is in proportion.
As a workround......
First set the project to HD 1920 x 1080 or 4K 3840 x 2160. You can try both options to compare quality.
The default MP4 setting will use......
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 3840 x 2160, 25 fps ( for Pal - will be 29.97 for Ntsc)
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 40000 Kbps, 16:9
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 192 Kbps
Ignoring the top video track insert your video to the overlay track, ( right click clip in library for Insert to Overlay 1)
Right click the preview screen for Fit to Screen, again does the video look in proportion.
From Share Same as Project Settings should render without the error.
