Focus Stacking

Post by RFauske »

Hello,
I've been watching tutorials about merging images, however, what I really want is info on focus stacking using multiple images. Is there an option for this in PaintShop Pro? Aftershot Pro? I suspect the answer is No, but it that's the case, has anyone heard of plans to add this feature?
Thank you!

Not sure what Focus Stacking is. Can you give an example?

PS. Stacking in general can be achieved with Layers.

Focus stacking is a digital image processing technique which combines multiple images taken at different focus distances to give a resulting image with a greater depth of field than any of the individual source images. Wikipedia

I see Kathy, thanks. Sounds similar to HDR merging which PSP does support with a dedicated tool/screen (but not depth related though).

Or use the Depth of Field feature on the Adjust menu without the need for multiple images.

PaintShop Pro doesn't have a tool for focus stacking.
