2021 not communicating with graphics board

Before upgrading to the 2021 version, loading PSP was ok. Now it takes up to 10 minutes with either Pro or Ultimate, I've had both. I've tried the various suggestions from this site, like reconnecting WIFI, but all attempts have failed or are cancelled the next time PSP is loaded. More painful than slow loading is extremely slow resizing, which is even slower with a brand new copy of ver 2021 Pro which I just installed yesterday. It is not an exaggeration to state that it takes 15 minutes or more to convert a file even with small changes.
I believe 2021 is not communicating with my graphics board, with is a NVIDIA GeForce GT 735m. I've tried upgrading all drivers, including those of the motherboard, but could not find any that were newer than the ones installed.
In earlier earlier versions of PSP the program loaded in seconds or minutes and conversion of files (resizing, for example) was only a matter of second or several minutes. Recently I tried increasing a 630MB file by 200% (doubling it's size). I gave up after 15 minutes. I then tried resizing it downward by 200%. I gave up waiting while the bar inched across the bottom of the screen.
Why I believe PSP is not communicating with my graphics board--but instead is using my computer's graphics board instead, is that while the file is being resized I unable to use other programs until the resizing is completed. If I am successful in getting another app opened it will not work properly and the cursor is practically worthless since it moves around in jerks or gets stuck.
I'm hoping to not have to go back several versions in order to get a functioning app. Any help would be appreciated.

The AI resize is slow on big images. You may tick the GPU acceleration to increase speed.
You may also untick the AI resize and work as you did in the previous version with Smart resize.
