I got a sweet little Sanyo-Fisher camcorder that shoots MPEG4 direct to SDs. VS7 SE came with it.
Unfortunately, VS7 SE keeps crashing during rendering to DVD from VS projects. Regardless of whether I try to go direct to the disk, make an iso file, or make VS files, it dies after 20 to 40 percent completion in the rendering phase.
I'm running this on P4 2.8Mhz machine with 512Mb ram (Windows XP with SP2).
The videos I'm working on should be fine. They are projected to be well within disk capacity (2.9G total for instance).
I've tried this several ways... All files on the internal hard drive. All files on a single external USB drive. Rendering from one USB drive to a second USB drive. Nothing works.
The error message I get (after the report to MS suggestion) is...
-----------------------------------
vstudio.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x73dd11c7" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read".
Click OK to terminate program.

Have any of you run across this problem?
Greatful for any suggestions you might offer. I've already ordered memory upgrades to get me to 1G (my machine's max capacity).

Thanks for your kind consideration and attention.

That's a bug in the program, a stray (NULL) pointer to a data structure that's being dereferrenced. Does that happen with ALL files, or just one particular one?
Try applying the patches for UVS 7 (except for the first one on the page, unless you use an Italian version).
