Back in the days an Oval framing of a picture

Post by arturox »

Dear PSP friends...
I'm having a session of brain flatulence and wonder if any oldies here can remember.
Back in the days there was a name for creating an Oval mask (Card) to put in front of a picture... And it wasn't the word Oval.

Anyone remember, please?

Thanks

Image - Picture Frame can do that.
You can add your own when saving your mask to (PSPdir)\Picture Frames with PSPFrame extension (same as PSPImage).

fs999. Yes I'm aware and created a number of my own in PSP, but it was the thing we used to do back in the Silver photography, in the dark room I was trying to remember.

Of course now with PSP and layers it's easy peasy to do... :-)

I went out for a walkies to clear the mush from my old head and remembered an "Oval Vignette" was what I was trying to remember. :-(

Hi Joëlle,
Totally off topic I know...
Long time since we were all on the old PSP Newsgroups...
I was thinking about those days recently and the incredible help we used to get from Dr Kris Zac... (Later as the Rutabaga) but then I couldn't remember the rest of his surname. (Botheration to the pudding brain).

By any chance, do you remember what his surname was ?
And I've often wondered what happened to Kris after Jasc went away.
Thanks
Arturox (Real name Dave).

Hi Dave,
You are thinking of Kris Zaklika who was the big shot at Jasc and was behind some great tools (Background eraser for one).
Yes, those were good days.

PS: love the name of your mother board...!

Hi Joëlle,
Ah yes that was it Zaklika, and indeed the Background eraser... Such a useful tool.

When it came to entering the MOBO in the profile I couldn't remember what it was and couldn't be bothered to run Belarc to find out what it was, so being a bit of a punster...

Dave (Also on the South coast, but a bit to the West of you)

Thanks again for the name prompt.

JoeB. Yes indeed, As in "The Day of the Triffids" By John Wyndham . (No films or TV versions please, Just the book).

Joëlle. Yes the same old geezer from way back in the Newsgroup days, and I've always preferred Newsgroups to Forums. :)

Yup, Newsgroups were good fun, sadly Corel decided instead of thinning the huge list down to a more sensible size, removing it was their preferred action.
A great shame. The photo challenges were good fun and very creative, but as with most things Corel .. 'let's change it', hmm.
