Hello
When rendering a 10 minuted video that would normally take between 15 and 30 minutes, if only the clarity filter is adjusted, the render time increases so much that just 1 minute of video takes an hour to render. The entire 10 minute video would take 10 to 12 hours. I've narrowed it down to this one filter that I use (or would like to use), but I'm unsure if there are other filters that would have this effect.
I've tracked the performance in task manager and the cpu utilization never goes above 6%, and gpu utilization stays at around 0%, despite enabling Smart Render and Hardware encode accelaration (Nvida cuda).
I'm using VideoStudio 2020, with a Ryzen 7 3800X, an NVidia RTX 2080 Super, and 32GB ram.
The source file is an mp4 file in 4K from a camera, just one file that's been edited.
Project properties:
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 3840 x 2160, 59.94 fps
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 65000 Kbps, 16:9
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps
No error codes, it just takes a very long time.
Thanks in advance. Hope someone can help figure this one out.

Welcome to the forums
I have just tested the Clarify option ( although using VS 2021) and indeed it does appear to take a long time to render, I do not know why that should be, maybe others on the forums can comment here.
As for Smart Render I doubt that option will have much effect as every frame in the video will need updating.
I tried FX Sharpen filter ( two options – FX Focus and New Blue Essentials) both options rendered much faster, as for quality, difficult to say no my short tests.

Re: Rendering time increases dramatically when using the clarity filter
There are several filters in VS that are poorly implemented, making them difficult or impossible to use. For example, a 7 second project that uses the 3D Title Editor can produce a VSP of 513MB in size (see https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=65935) that takes ridiculous time to render! As well, there are others filters such as Color Correction, that can dramatically increase rendering time.AngryAussie wrote: The entire 10 minute video would take 10 to 12 hours. A suggested approach to some filters is either to avoid their use and substitute other filters, or accept their poor implementation.
