Motion Array - anything like this for VS?

Post by garjobo123 »

Motion Array is impressive. Is there any plugin or..anything decent enough which VS can do like this?

Motion Array is a subscription based program, it would appear mainly for Adobe, so it's unlikely VS would have any similar filters

That's not a very fair statement to make, Motion Array is only available on a subscription basis for Adobe, Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve at a cost of US$29.99/month. There is a free version available, but that includes only the Shifter Plugin, have you tried it ?
Corel has not let anyone down, their products are targeted to a certain consumer level, and what you get for for a relatively low purchase price is considerable, agreed there are issues with some components, but that applies to all NLEs, including the upmarket ones, I have Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, they have as many issues as all the others

Comment of the year that, ' VS has not let anyone down' LOL! you clearly don't use VS!!!
It's a total disgrace, features refusing to work / crashes - the amount of HOURS lost using this piece of ...beggers belief. Many a time i'm tempted to email them asking to pay me back the hours lost!

Still the mugs will continue to purchase ..next up VS 22!! cant wait for that one! ooh a shiny new filter Its a must buy!

VS20 loving how sound clips now speed up for no reason / and love how you cant adjust some portions of the sound - without it crashing...a feature that hasnt been fixed for years!

So you're comparing a program that is listed for $400 to VS that currently sells for $70. Is there a point?

P.S. The question was addressed to the OP.

Not comparing just stating I ditched VS and went with DaVinci. Also, Blackmagic gives you a free copy of their flagship DaVinci Resolve Studio $400 software for free with camera purchase. Win. Win. Great camera and software. A company that does it's marketing right.

Hi rwernyei,
So, why are you here? If you think Resolve is problem-free it suggests you haven't actually used the software. I agree that their cameras are simply great.

In your experience, what are the features of DaVinci that make it better than VS?

Are you making professional videos or ones for your personal entertainment?

Thanks.

rwernyei,
If you no longer use VS, why are you still a moderator, you should have removed yourself from that position, because you are really not able to give proper advice on current VS versions, unless you are in fact still using the program and users may get the wrong impression of your expertise and knowledge of VS
DaVinci Resolve, great cameras, a lot to pay just to get a free program

I am here because I was here before all of you even knew about this forum. I have been a long time Ulead/Corel user for years.
Let's get things straight, there is no perfect NLE. Yes I said it but DaVinci Resolve Studio does so many things better than VideoStudio Pro and you would only be a fool to compare the two by price factor and consumer grade v. professional grade. DaVinci Resolve is the full package used in the film industry as an editor that uses true GPU hardware acceleration, professional color grading, Fusion compositing, Virtual Reality and 3D, a real audio editor, etc. Those simply are all features that VS can't deliver. I simply stated in my post that I ditched VS and went to DaVinci Resolve and apparently that upset all of you. Read the question again. Which NLE are you moving to, having ditched VS? I answered DaVinci Resolve Studio. In no way was I offering Moderator advice about a comparision just stating I have left like many other members of Yahoo Groups MUG-SW(Ulead MediaStudio Pro Users Group-Software) did. Another Ulead forum none of you ever belonged to.
I think all of you are tech savvy enough to look at comparison tables to know that DaVinci is the clear winner even their free version. I still lurk and offer advice when I can and I earned the Moderator role for Ulead COOL 3D software. Yes, discontinued but then Corel released MotionStudio 3D as it's upgrade and again was just a revamped version of COOL 3D Production Studio supporting Windows 7 OS. So I have expertise in that area as well and they still sell it. In addition, Ulead/Corel MediaStudio Pro too in which I won a Ulead contest for my combination COOL 3D/MediaStudio Pro software tutorial. So I have every right to be a Moderator. Do any of you have these credentials? I don't think so. Last version of VS I own is Ultimate 2018 and after downloading their newer trials I would have to say nothing much has improved and in many ways regressed plagued with stability issues and unaddressed bugs. I think I have supported my case.

A tad arrogant and condescending methinks.

Hi @rwernyei,
As you say, "you would only be a fool to compare the two". The programs are aimed at two very different market segments and levels of editing experience. I think it is much more important what you place on your timeline rather than which timeline you use. I think that the plugins in Videostudio offer incredible value and accessibility to customers without the demanding computer requirements of Resolve. Videostudio is much more accessible to novices and intermediate level editors who would find the complexities of Resolve daunting, How can you possibly comment on the state of Videostudio when you don't even have the full current version? I have found 2021 to be very stable and responsive. Videostudio's editing tools are solid enough to create a polished finished product. If you say you have expertise regarding the use of Videostudio it would be great to offer it here otherwise perhaps you no longer need to "lurk" with obvious intent.
