Ok hot potato - VS 21...i have VS20...rarely use it..in facr 10yrs back VS ..x6 or whatever i found to be much more stable albeit using 720 or at best 1080p
So, im about to edit a biggish project...nothing too fancy, the usual few interviews, few static shots, add a few photos, bits of txt and a short soundtrack - lovely stuff.
So...my video is..ok...would like to lighten it up in places or crop it a little...my sound is...ok sometimes..a bit background noise other times - i can hide with a elevator soundtrack no doubt.
But..nothing too out-there picture in picture etc etc
SO...should i plum for VS21...or stick with VS20..i think i have VS19 , 18 lying around perhaps...i know VS18 deemed more reliable than some.
Thoughts welcome. Any 'really good' improvements worth getting for VS21? i mean..tweaks and improvements to old features..not the latest 'straight to youtube' etc features.
Should I plum for VS 21 in place of current VS20 - due to start new project.

I liked VS18, not so much VS19. VS21 not enough difference from VS20 to justify the cost in my opinion (which is worth what you paid for it).

One thing for sure, start at "lower" VS as it's vsp's can be loaded into a newer one but not downwards...
And set the autosave to 1 minute.

Replace "lower" with "earlier"; and "downwards" with "backwards". Asik means that projects made in earlier versions of VS can be opened in later ones; but projects made in the latest version cannot be opened in earlier ones. Before VS 2020, you could save a project to open in up to three earlier versions, but for some silly reason Corel removed that option in VS 2020 and 2021.

Stick with what you have.
The golden rule: Save, save and save again. It will crash and if it doesn't, you're lucky (all depends on what you're doing, of course). I can trim down 50/60 small vids, add text and music, with no crashes, but as soon as you do something a bit more involved, it can crash. SAVE!
Good luck.
