FTLOG! Where has the font options now gone in VS 2020!!

Post by garjobo123 »

One thing after another.

Font/text options ( to fade in and out and other zoom effects etc ) Always easy to find, BUT, on VS2020 - all i can see is, FONT, STYLE, BORDER, SHADOW, EFFECT - displayed in rectangles, in a downward line. Clicking on Effect -the customiser filter / tickbox - replace last effect etc appears but all greyed out.

Where has the usual method gone too - hard to explain but simple enough - always on the right hand side view, The Edit option / where the Font colour / that 'T' ( borders/shadows/transparency) / the text backdrop / and the fading in txt....in the view i have none of that can be seen. I can alter/change txt by clicking on the afore mentioned Font, Style, Border.....but its the fade in/effects im after.

Obviously MUST be there, ive checked youtube - etc checked settings....any thoughts...im sure obvious...but cant seem to find it displayed. and yes , tried changing the layout view etc

Well, ah, erm, it is right there - see where the font face name is in the box next to the big "T"? On the right end of that font name box is a tiny little down arrow - click it and get a drop list showing all of the font names available and a sample of the face.

That's not what he is after. He is talking about the motion of the font, not the font itself.

garjobo -- when you insert the title in the title part of the timeline, have you double clicked it? That puts the ant-tick box around the title on screen, but activates the various things you listed, but including importantly Motion. With Motion active, you can choose what type of motion you want to customize, including of course Zoom. See attached image taken from VS 2020.

Thanks for the replies. Brian you got it - thats exactly the screen. Ok so, i must of doubleclicked..but...ive tried etc..and i still cannot get it to the 'original version' ( where i can choose to fade text or make it go all 'wavy' etc ) Clicking it again etc means the box isnt 'greyed out' but still doesnt let me ..as i say..fade the text.

Does Fade In/Fade Out/Cross Fade under Motion > Fade not do what you want?

Hi
First double clicking the Title on the timeline, now the Preview Screen showing the yellow bounding lines around the text box.
With that selected choose Motion – tick Apply
Change the type to Fade, Kens image shows Zoom selected, click the small down arrow for more options, choose Fade
The fade options showing as presets with a manual approach to the right. Fade-In, Fade-out, CrossFade
