I have a layered image that I have been working on where the paintbrush, air brush and eraser have stopped working. I right click and drag and nothing happens, even the cursor doesn't move until I release the mouse button and then the cursor jumps to the new point. However, when I start a new image everything works fine. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You also want to make sure that there are no active selections.
Selections -> Select None ( Ctrl + D)
When there is a selection on the canvas the brush will only work while inside the selection.
