DVD DL not showing full 8.5gb available

Hi,

In DVDWS2.0 I insert a blank DVD (4.7 or 8.5) ready for burning, it states that I have 4gb (or 8gb for DL) available on the disk, not the full amount. Is this right?

The only reason I ask is that I have a project that is 4.5GB which I would have assumed would fit on a 4.7GB blank DVD.

Min gives the correct 4.3 Gb for SD discs and 8 Gb for DL. You will never get 4.5 Gb on an SD DVD; the max is ~4.37 (4.7 x 1000^3/1024^3) and ~7.91 for DL, because some idiots believe that k, M and G multipliers are 1024^n and not 1000^n as ISO stipulates.
