Night for day filter

Post by MikesMovies »

Hi guys

I want to make some clips filmed in daylight look like night time.
Trouble is the background picture, was taken in good sunlight and still looks like that even with the filter.
Any suggestions please?

I think that you'll need to use a variety of editing techniques to make your daylight footage look like it was shot at night. A good place to start is to view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaMDkrd8KDE for some ideas.

As your shot is static a mask will be ez to make. Just "paint" the train and then invert.
with the mask you can reduce the highlights from bright noon to full moon.

Mike
Did you take the video of the train against a green screen then add the background image using Video Studio ?????
If so then using an Image Editor to change the background image may be the best way, you can also consider adding stars that will certainly give the impression of night-time.
