Failed to initialize the video capture plug-in

I am using Canon MV690 with VS9 (after uninstalling VS8) when I am trying to capture DV a erro r dialog box says:

"Failed to initialize the video capture plug-in. Another program may be using it or the file has been moved. Capture driver is not installed properly".

However when I am using DV Quick Scan the capturing works.

Please help.

Go to Tools -> Change Capture Plugin and make sure the DirectShow capture plugin is selected.

Can we also assume you are connected via Firewire/i-Link? And what are your computer specifications?

I do have a firewire 1394.
