The download completed. I ran it. It didn't look good. All the English letters had been replaced with "?".

I could click the "???" button or the "???a" button.

So I clicked the "???" button.

I must be missing a language pack. Or my download got hosed.

It appeared to be installing something though. It was moving kinda slow so I bailed. I won't know until Monday when I return to work whether its going to work.

Got home, tried the same download link, and it bombed. So it's on my office computer and I can't download to my home computer. Thought I would start it tonight and wake up in the morning with another download. Clicking on the url gives me "530 Not Logged In."

Wah. Ulead must be reading my posts.

12 hours 45 mins of downloading (!!!!) but eventually got all 650mb. Was not a happy bunny when I then ran the program, and shock horror, got all the ‘????’ s referred to by teeinep.

Fortunately I played with all of these and found that one was a browse button, enabling me to select the directory where I had stored the download. Then clicking the remaining buttons unzipped the VS9 files (including the new setup.exe) to the same directory.

The setup ran smoothly except that it reported ‘2166’ errors when try to install three of the SmartSound tracks. To try and overcome this I ran the VS9 and SmartSound patches and then reinstalled SmartSound on top of the earlier installation – using the Smartsound files that I downloaded as part of the ‘Bonus Material’ when I first purchased VS9. This installed two of the missing tracks, but the ‘Boulevard Funk’ track is missing. if I try and select this, VS9 tells me to insert the SmartSound Full Spectrum 22k CD (which I don’t have). A minor irritation, but grateful if someone could advise me on how to overcome this.

I suspect that teeinep’s failure to obtain an office and a home download is something to do with his VS9 license, which in my case stated: ‘.... you are free to use it on your PC only, however you may also transfer your license free of charge once to your laptop or any other machine...’.
