Subject states the problem.
I have been just clicking OK when doing a multi-camera edit, and it has saved it to the project's timeline, and put a multi-edit in the list of files in the folder.
So, I decided I'd try the "File/Save as" in the multi cam editor. So, it did not then save it to the timeline in the current project, and it did save it as an XML file. I see on way to import that into a project.
Am I missing something? If I can't open the XML file as a project or import it, why would it have the "Save AS" at all?
Any thoughts?

Re: Multi Camera Edit saved- But it is a .xml file
Hi
I do not know about the xml file, I believe a form of system file working supporting the vsp project file, I will check that out later.
OK
When I open the multi cam editor yes I do have the option to SavsAs, that allows me to give the project a name instead of using the default names, I find that useful.
When I have completed the mce I am returned to the video studio timelines, my mce project file (mce 01. vsp) is placed in the library.
I now drag this clip to the timeline where i can view and continue to edit. Ultimately I will save that project in the same way as my other projects.
If I wish to continuing editing the project within mce, then bubble clicking the clip within the library will open mce showing that original project.

Re: Multi Camera Edit saved- But it is a .xml file
Some confusion hear regarding MCCL Multi Cam Capture Lite and the MCE Multi Camera Editor
From the title of your post indicates the Multi Cam Editor
Having checked my program today I believe you are using MCCL Multi Cam Capture Lite, it is this module that saves xml files.
But then its the Multi Cam Editor that allows for Save As
So I am still unsure which you are actually using........
Can you clarify
Even more confusing, I have already replied to this postvwith these details, no idea where that reply went?

Re: Multi Camera Edit saved- But it is a .xml file
Well, I will just list the steps I go through, maybe that will more accurately answer your question:
I listed the steps below and went through it to test. Guess what! It put the multi cam project in the folder and I can use it. So, who knows what happened.

- Open Video Studio Ultimate 2020
Open the project I've been working on.
I select the files I want to make up the multi camera video
Having 4 video files selected, I right click on one of them and select Multi Camera Editor
I make sure Smart Proxy is on
I sync the files via audio
I then go through the process of playing and selecting which one to use as the video plays
After that I have done one thing or another:
1. Click OK, which saves the multicam file into the folder I am working in. I can then place it on the video line
2. Click save as and enter a name. When I do that, I cannot find the multicam project file to place

Re: Multi Camera Edit saved- But it is a .xml file
After finishing the edits in MCE you choose ok which takes you back to the timelines.
The mce.vsp is placed in the library, dragging this clip to the top timeline will show your files as created in the mce.
You can the go to file save-as to save the project in the normal way, as you would do for any project......
The existing mce.vsp project file remains within the library, if you double click that clip the mce should open again to allow you to continue editing within the mce, should you need to do that
If you right click the mce clip in the library for “locate on computer” will show the actual file.
