Missing Icons in Layer Palette

Hey folks-

After multiple installs, clean-ups, and re-installs I can't seem to go back to icons only on the layer palette. Two separate PCs this has happened on. At first the icons are there, then magically they switch to text only. As you see in pic #2, I unchecked the option and the text disappears, but there are no icons taking their place. Resetting defaults, palettes, usage, cache, and workspace do not correct the problem. Also, I am unable to uncheck and re-check the 2 Layer options in the dialogue box in pic #2. Any ideas? Thanks!

Have you tried doing a reset? Hold down the Shift key when you click the desktop PSP icon to open the program. You should get a dialogue box asking if you want to reset. Say OK of course. Make sure, though, you first save any customized workspace -- otherwise it will be lost in the reset.

If you go to View -> Customize once the customize dialog opens right-click on the text and choose the button only option. Or whatever it's called. Don't know if it'll work but it should, though the fact that it happened at all suggests you should probably do a full reset as Ken berry suggests as it might be an indication of corruption of the workspace. Resetting fixes issues like that.

Don't know why that didn't work the first time I did it, but it seems to have fixed it now. Still stable after about 2 hours. Thanks!

I am also experiencing this problem. However, for me, not even toggling the "Show text labels" options in View > Customize > Toolbars > Layers Palette Option Toolbar seems to work. The best I can get it is from displaying text only to displaying empty icons.

"Reset" and "Reset All" don't do anything that helps either.

I also already reset the program to its default values and even re-installed it. The best I got was that the icons were there for one session, but the next time I started the program again, I was back at square one again, with only text displaying.

Any help, please?
