I felt we were going around in circles here so I accessed DayO’s pc to view his project
To keep you guys upto date………….
The video as we know was MTS files 1920 x 1080 x 59.94fps
Project was set to standard definition DVD ntsc 720 x 480 x 29.97fps
At 58% the mts clip had a FX audio amplify filter applied
It was the combination of the wrong settings and this filter that caused any rendering to fail.
I created a new project modifying the settings to match the videos properties
DayO was able to complete the project and render to “same as first video clip”
This produced a good video without the previous artefacts / poor quality.

Trevor/lata has certainly helped unscramble the serpent's egg of my VSP project.
Some lessons learned with this.
Kudos to a great diagnosticator!

Perhaps if you reread the early posts in this thread, you'll now realize that people were telling you how to find and fix the problem right from the start.DayO wrote:Some lessons learned with this.

Sure.
Lose the patronizing, OK?
I have galloping ADHD, as a senior citizen.
And this was an arduous, confusing undertaking, for a novice videographer.
You motivate me to try out Power Director....
