Setting white point in curves adjustment layer

Post by eja »

When I add a curves adjustment layer I wanted to use the eye dropper in the box under the curves. I select one of the eye droppers to set the white point and then move it over the image but it does not activate. I can't figure out why it won't let me select an area on the image.

In your screenshot the preview is not turned on. You need to use the eyedropper to click on the before preview (see attached). Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I tried what you said, but it still won't let me use the eyedroppers. It still stays displayed as an arrow.

Thankyou for the reply. That did do the trick. However, I thought it should work if I have the option to "preview on Image" selected. I did not realize it would only work on the preview images.

Glad it worked for you. The "Preview on Image" option allows you to see the changes live on the image in your workspace.
