Hey,
Have shot a photo of a little collectible which contains text and a year (4 digits). The same objects exists for multiple years so I want to overwrite the year from my original photo with another year. To do so I need to find the right font which shall match the original from the photo.
It seems that the font I am looking for does not exist in my PSP 2018. After I found the font I would need to adjust the attributes to best match the original.
See the attached photo. A few notes re/ the font.
> it looks fat
> seems to be condensed
> the digit 1 does not have a horizontal part at the bottom
> the nose of the 1 is straight - not benged
> the digit 9 in the lower left needs to turn up
> the hollow parts in the 8 must be round - not oval
How would you solve this issue?

Do a search in Google for
find a font
You'll get online services where you can identify a font (if exists).
I think the font is the same as the font of the surrounding text.

The nearest I got to is Spumoni LP std, see attached.
Then it needs some fattening up

Thanks so far,
I tried 3 website which try to identify the font but it did not really turn into success.
Joelle, thanks. Right, I also went through the standard list one by one w/o success. Your finding would be an option but I am also not happy with it as I would need to do too many manuell adjustments... and this repeatably for pictures with many different years.
I fear I need to continue doing manuel copy & pastes, cloning, drawing, etc...

Re: Trying to find the correct font based on a text in a photo
I did a search online and found this - http://www.mypins.de/ibm/pin_htm/pin1609.htm
They look almost identical other than the fonts. The fonts looked really weird to me in your image as they didn't seem to match each other very well. Letters that looked semi-flat and bold at the beginning looked thin later on. And I couldn't tell if that was just the shadows and reflections or what. But these pins appear to be in different styles so maybe it's just made by a different company. I don't know. But if they are just really worn down/smushed you'd have a hard time matching that font. On the positive side how many fonts could they possibly have been using in manufacturing pins back in the 1980s?

Levi,
That's funny. The link you are referring to is part of my site. I own and manager my IBM Pin Museum at www.mypins.de/ibm
Here is the site of the IBM Award Pins which I am aware of: http://www.mypins.de/ibm/pin_cat/cat_mor_hp.htm
I do not own them all - just the ones with the years printed in white. So I try to do a good picture of one pin style and then manipulate the years for the pins I miss. So I will continue to work on the years by pixel - not by vector. It's time consuming but over the years working with PSP my skills improved.
Thanks for your thoughts.
