I need to install PSP 2020 Ultimate on my laptop

I am about to take a long road trip and I need to install PSP 2020 Ultimate on my laptop.
As I have been using PSP for many years, I have been updating previous versions, but when my previous laptop died I replaced it with a new model without a CD drive. This meant that I couldn't install PSP 2020 on it as an upgrade. So, how do I do this? It's really critical as time is short.

Upgrade pricing is only pricing. It doesn't upgrade a previous version. If you bought 2020 as an upgrade you were given the full installer. All you need is to have the nstaller downloaded and you can install 2020 on a new computer without having a previous version installed.

Reading your post it sounds like you have your versions on CD and because your new laptop does not have a CD reader you are unable to put those versions as well as 2020 on the laptop.
You should be able to purchase an external USB Cd drive in that case, but best if you transfer all your versions as files from the CDs to computer and save them on USB sticks so you can transfer from one computer to another easily in future.

I'll explain: All my PSP installers are on my desktop PC. I copied the PSP installer onto my Windows 10 laptop and ran it. It seemed to install correctly but when I tried to run it PSP reported missing files. This usually indicates that the program is looking for a previous version.

You're right, it doesn't but I believe it needs to be able to locate a previous version.

Or that something didn't get installed. All of my previous upgrades were full installers and did not require a previous version. What was the exact error you received.

I can't tell you the exact error message 'cos I uninstalled the program.

I'm running the installer again now. When it's finished I'll give you the error message.

Wow! I just re-installed it and, bingo-bango! It seems to be running fine now.

BTW, do you know if there's a way of transferring the "configuration" (my UI preferences) file from my PC installation onto my laptop PC?

Toolbars, shortcuts, palettes are all saved in the Workspace file. You can read how to save and load workspaces here - http://help.corel.com/paintshop-pro/v20 ... paces.html

If you want to save and load General Preferences or File Locations those need to be done manually, or via script. I just happen to have such a script here - https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?p=308506#p308506
