From PSP 2019 32x to PSP 2019 64x

Good evening to all,

I wish to transform my PSP 2019 at 32bit in PSP 2019 at 64 bit.
Before sinking in a sea of troubles and problems, I kindly ask where version 2019 at 64 bit is available for downloading ... or now I'm forced to get 2021 Version?.
After some googling, it seems that 2019 is available no more.
I do not intend to pay for an upgrade.

Do you have the original installer? If not you can try contacting Corel support to see if they'll give you a download.

I don't remember if the old 2019 trial installer offered both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions or if it only installed the 64-bit version. But if you can get your hands on the trial installer you can activate the trial version to the full version of 2019 with the serial number.

Yes LeviFiction,
I have an "explicit" installer for 32x (name: PSP2019Installer_32bit.exe) and a more obscure PSP2019_Pro.exe.
Both, if launched, say that Paint Shop Pro is already installed and abort.
This is correct obviously but I do not trust in uninstalling for after seeing what happens using PSP2019_Pro.exe.
PSP2019_Pro.exe and PSP2019Installer_32bit.exe have exactly the same dimension (6.117 Kb).
I'm wondering what could be happen if, even having a regular license for 2019, the computer crashes leaving the owner without a backup copy of the installation of PSP 2019.
Forced to 2021?

When you first installed VS 2019, you should have been given the option of installing both 32 and 64 bit versions. This was even recommended. So you would have had to have made a conscious choice to only install the 32 bit version. Can you remember if you did? Or did you just let the installation program do its thing?

Have you looked in your Windows 10 All Apps menu under "Corel VideoStudio 2019"? Is there only "VideoStudio 2019" (which is the 32 bit version) there, or also "VideoStudio 2019 (64 bit)"?

yes I did a conscious choice. In a first moment I installed the 64x, but after some days I realized that it was not compatible with the driver of my old scanner Canon 4400F, available only at 32x. So I installed PSP 32x.
I do not remember the option for installing both 32x and 64x.
But surely I uninstalled the 64x before installing the 32x.
My backups do not contain the 64x because, probably, I deleted any instance of it judged useless and only space wasting.

But yesterday I luckily got a new driver 64x for my Canon 4400F and right after I thought to transform PSP from 32x to 64x.
And moreover I'm now planning to change my computer at all. So where I found 64x ?

ilkgk48 you mentioned you had two installers for PSP. One with x32 specifically written in the filename. Technically the one without the x32 should provide both the 64-bit and 32-bit. The installers you have are web installers, they download the full installation file for you and then run it. Which is why they have the same size.

If the naming was made by Corel then logically the 32-bit version will only install the 32-bit one. The 64-bit one lets you choose between only 32-bit, only 64-it, or both. But they should never have come as just 32-bit and just 64-bit.

If Corel support can't help you, and if you uninstall and find you cannot re-install with the apps you have let me know and I'll share my installer with you. You should be able to use your serial number with it just fine.

I have to recognze it: I did really a mess with my installation.
Before taking any further action yesterday I called Corel in chat, for make me sure about the existence, or not, of a downloadable PSP2019.

They asked the reference of my purchasing order and then, immediatly in chat, they gave me this URL:

I pasted it in the browser and then downloaded PSP 2019 (about 424 Mbyte, all the block, not web installers)
All OK now: I have PSP 64x.
But I do not understand why Corel suggests to install PSP 32x and PSP 64x both.

Anyway, I looked around in https://www.paintshoppro.com/it/ (it ---> en) looking for a link to the above url without finding it.
Surprised? A little, but it seems obvious that Corel would preferred that I downloaded PSP 2021.
So the url for downloading old versions exists but why expose it? Better hide it so you purchase the latest version. Or not?
