PsP only opening once

Hello All,

I am new here after many years of purchasing PsP
I have had a recurring problem for many years with different computer and different versions of PsP. Every new version I hope the problem will be fixed but is remains.

Problem.
I open PsP and use it. I then close the program. I then try to open PsP again and nothing happens.
I have looked in the task manager to see if anything is left over from the first use that could be running in the background, but nothing is obvious.

I have to shut down my computer to reuse PsP again, this can not be right.

Please someone let me know what I have to do to prevent this from happening,

Your problem has been discussed quite a few times over the years, and I myself am someone who occasionally experiences it too. But you don't have to shut down your computer to fix it.

You say you looked in Task Manager, but have you looked in Task Manager > Background Processes? After closing PSP, a supposedly temporary file appears there down the list under C for Corel PSP. Sometimes it just stays there for a few seconds, then disappears. But sometimes, for you and for me, it stays and stays and prevents PSP from reopening. So right click it and choose End Task, then hit OK. PSP should now reopen.

The main problem in dealing with this is that not everyone is affected. Some people, like me for instance, only experience it now and then. Others get it a lot or all the time. So it is a difficult one to solve, though easy enough to get around.
