Overlay edit in preview screen problem (VS2021)

Post by cybernick »

I was working in a multilayer video with my VS2021.
From time to time the preview windows does not allow me to edit (resize, relocate etc) overlay media. The only solution is to restart the app.
I believe it is another bug.
Check the attached videos.
before restart.mp4 (shows the problem)
after restart.mp4 (no problem after restart of the VS2021)

Hi Cybernick,
Is this something that you can replicate in VS2020 or does it just happen in VS2021. I ask to determine if this issue is specifically VS2021 or is a legacy problem.

My advice is to lodge a ticket with Corel Support. The more people who lodge a ticket, the higher the probability the bug with be addressed in the next software update. And in the meantime use VS2020 for these type of video edits to save you from constantly restarting the program.

Nick
I am not able to replicate the problems you are having here, must be missing something
You appear to be using multiple copies of your “zoom total.wmv” with several effects applied to each clip?

Can you provide the VSP file, you will have to zip to attach to your post then I may be able to make sense of what’s going on.

Unfortunately the file is so big. It is a zoom call in which I crop every person's video and zoom in/out based on the one speaking.
You know what? Corel provided me a new vstudio.exe and a new dll to fix the playback crash bug. (It does not fixed 100% but still it is more stable)
Maybe this is the reason you do can not replicate. :( I have a different exe file.

I was asking for the VSP file which should be relatively small
That will allow me to view the filters you have used, I can replace the files you are using with my own WMV files.

So far I have not had a problem with that vsp showing the clip in the overlay track.

A couple of crashes but think its related to re-linking as I do not have all your files, the vsp is quite large, Once i relink it appears to be stable
