Good afternoon to all,
after rating a Jpg image in the Adjust Mode, you can see the imposed Stars also in the Windows 10 Properties -> Details of each image.
OK: perfect.
But where PSP stores the rating?
It seems NOT in the Exif of the image !!!!
I say this because reading via VB.NET the Exif information of the image, there is no rating.
But if I force the Stars directly via Windows then VB.NET reads the rating just where it should be, in the Exif.
And PSP reads the rating imposed via Windows!
Has someone never noticed this fact?
Image rating in Adjust mode - I have a technical question

I have never looked at it but I did know if the file contains a rating or tags PSP will import those and they will take priority over PSP's own database.
Have you looked in the IPTC or XMP data?

Re: Image rating in Adjust mode - I have a technical question (Resolved)
Hi Levi,
my images are Jpeg that come directly from PSP, as results of scanning activity.
I've just experienced that PSP does not store the rating in Exif, even if in the Manage mode -> Info Palette, you can see the rating within the Exif Tab!
This is misleading in my case.
Anyway you can only see the rating there: for assigning you have to switch to the General Tab of the Info Palette.
In Adjust Mode you can too assign the rating and also in this case it's not really set in the Exif.
So my VB.NEt project does not trust in Exif anymore and now it uses other ways (luckily no need for XMP or IPTC extractors ...
) for retrieving the rating.
Thank you.
Problem resolved!
